In the production and maintenance of heat exchangers copper-phosphorus brazing alloys (with or without silver) are widely used.
The choice of silver phoscopper rods may depend on pressure or electrical conductivity needs or on larger gaps to fill. With bends or small tubes rings or preforms are employed, by torch or furnace (controlled atmosphere) brazing. On copper-brass joints low silver alloys are preferred, in bare (in this case plus separate paste or powder flux) or flux coated rods. For large assemblies the use of gas liquid flux is suggested.
